Work for this project includes the construction of a pre-engineered metal building, ultra-filtration and reverse osmosis treatment systems, pumps, chemical storage and metering equipment, a motor control center, main switchgear, and associated yard piping.

Regional Lift Station Force Main Replacement
Project Location: Laguna Niguel
The scope of work for this project includes:
The Regional Lift Station Force Main Replacement project will install approximately 1.6 miles of dual 24-inch diameter wastewater force mains in a new alignment within the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. The project requires five creek crossings that will utilize trenchless construction methods to protect the riparian habitat around the creek. As part of the project, the existing force mains will be repurposed to provide supplemental treated effluent capacity for the Regional Treatment Plant and support future stormwater diversions associated with the District’s OASIS program. The project also includes associated pipeline appurtenances, bypassing, and restoration

Plant 3A Solids Handling Facilities Improvements
Project Location: Mission Viejo
The scope of work for this project includes:
Work for this project will rehabilitate and improve the entirety of the solids handling facilities within Plant 3A and re-establish the desired level of service and redundancy of the solids handling processes. Some key elements of this project include: primary and secondary scum pump station rehabilitations, operations building upgrades, polymer feed system replacement, thickener and digester upgrades, major electrical equipment upgrades, and a new biosolids loadout facility.

Electrical System Improvements Phase 4
Project Location: Various
The scope of work for this project includes:
Work for this project includes electrical system improvements at five sites; Alicia Recycled Water Pump Station, Aliso Viejo Recycled Water pump Station, Country Village Pump Station, Galivan Recycled Water Pump Station, and Pacific Park Pump Station. Specifically, the project includes replacing the main switchboards at each site; replacing motor control centers and breakers at four sites; replacing automatic transfer switches at two sites; providing temporary power provisions at two sites; installing a manual transfer switch and portable generator connection at two sites; upsizing the main switchboard and motor control center to accommodate a future larger pump at the Pacific Park Potable Water Pump station; installing three new variable frequency drives at the Galivan Recycled Water Pump Station; and other related reliability and electrical code compliance upgrades.

North Aliso Lift Station Reconstruction
Project Location: Mission Viejo
The scope of work for this project includes:
Work for this project will reconstruct the wastewater lift station on the same site while the existing facility remains in operation. All existing facilities that have reached the end of their useful lives. The new facilities will include a 12-foot diameter wet well with submersible pumps, two buildings for the mechanical and electrical equipment, and an onsite emergency standby generator. The project also includes new perimeter retaining walls, grading, and site improvements for the expansion of the site. After the new lift station is in operation, the existing below-ground structures associated with the existing station will be repurposed to provide additional emergency storage capacity.

Aliso Creek Lift Station Rehabilitation
Project Location: Aliso Viejo
The scope of work for this project includes:
Work for this project involves rehabilitation of the lift station in its entirety, including replacement of all mechanical and electrical components. An additional third pump will be added to the station to improve the operational reliability of the facility. The project also includes wet well rehabilitation, reconfiguration of the influent gravity sewer piping to facilitate bypassing of the station, and site restoration.

Rehabilitation of Marguerite Reservoir
Project Location: Mission Viejo
The scope of work for this project includes:
Work for this project includes structural and corrosion repairs, tank operation and safety improvements (including spiral stairways, full perimeter guardrails, and interior fiberglass platforms and ladders), installation of a cathodic protection system, and re-coating of the interior and exterior of the reservoir.

Reservoir Management Systems (RMS) Replacements – Phase 4
Reservoir Management Systems (RMS) Replacements – Phase 4
Project Location: Various Locations
The scope of work for this project included:
Similar to the previous phases, this project demolished the existing RMS facilities and constructed new RMS facilities at El Dorado, La Paz, Rancho, and Saddleback reservoir sites. The new RMS facilities consist of new block buildings, sodium hypochlorite on-site generation at two sites, sodium hypochlorite and ammonia storage tanks and metering pumps, reservoir mixing systems, sampling stations, safety eyewashes/showers, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.

Crown Valley Parkway Pipeline Replacements
Crown Valley Parkway Pipeline Replacements
Project Location: Laguna Niguel
The scope of work for this project included:
Work for this project included the installation of approximately 1.75 miles of new dual 12-inch diameter PVC sewer force mains and associated appurtenances within Crown Valley Parkway to replace the existing sewer force main; approximately 1.75 miles of a new 12-inch diameter PVC and steel water transmission main and associated appurtenances within Crown Valley Parkway to replace the existing water transmission main; and a new belowground master meter facility within right-of-way between Crown Valley Parkway and Paseo Del Niguel to replace the existing I.D. No. 1 Master Meter facility. The project also included the abandonment of the existing pipelines after the new pipelines were placed into service.

Highlands 790-Zone Pipeline Loop
Project Location: Laguna Niguel
The scope of work for this project included:
Work for this project includes replacing approximately 800 feet of a new 12-inch PVC potable water pipeline within Niguel Road, Highlands Avenue, and Braxton Drive. Additionally, approximately 180 feet of an existing unused segment of 8-inch sewer pipe and manhole will be abandoned within Braxton Drive to allow sufficient space for the new potable water pipeline.

2022-23 Pressure Reducing Station Rehabilitations
Project Location: Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo
The scope of work for this project included:
Work for this project included the replacement of the piping, pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, isolation valves, pipe supports, access ladders, instrumentation, and appurtenances within each PRS vault. Additionally, at the Via Napoli location, the project installed a new precast concrete lid and access hatch. The project also included pressure washing the interior of the belowground vaults and coating of the new piping and valves.

East Aliso Creek Reservoir Inlet and Outlet Piping Modifications
Project Location: Laguna Niguel
The scope of work for this project included:
Work for this project replaced the existing inlet and outlet piping, as well as the existing piping and valves within the valve vault and other associated site piping. The project also installed flexible expansion joints where the piping connects to the tank to enhance the seismic resiliency of the facility.

2022-2023 Valve Replacements
2022-2023 Valve Replacements
Project Location: Aliso Viejo and Laguna Hills
The scope of work for this project included:
Work for this project replaced key valves that were identified by District staff and prioritized as part of the systemwide valve replacement program. The proposed contract included the replacement of 70 potable water valves at 23 locations within the cities of Aliso Viejo and Laguna Hills.
